Meditation Workshop Series
with Banny, Meditation and Personal Growth Teacher and Facilitator

For people new to meditation as well as people who practice regularly. Learn the ancient tool of meditation used by all cultures and religions for thousands of years to increase your peace, joy, clarity, creativity and energy flow. Mounting research proves it to be highly effective in relieving stress and strengthening the immune system for better overall health.

Dates: This 4 week session begins July 6 and will continue each consecutive Tuesday in July

Featured Charity: Gilda's Club of Rochester, NY

June’s featured charity is Gilda's Club of Rochester; a community support center for people living with cancer and their families. Gilda's Club offers emotional support groups, education and lectures in health and wellness and lifestyle support, and social activities.

Join Amy Warcup for a Karma Vinyasa-Restorative Combo Yoga class. This 65-minute class is a donation-based class that supports local charities. The first 40-minutes includes a heat-building vinyasa practice, followed by 25 minutes of relaxing and opening restorative yoga.

Date: Friday, July 16th

Suggested Donation: $10-$15, but no amount is too small

Journey Dance
with Banny

Journey dance invites us out of our minds and into out bodies, where we’ll feel connected, grounded and energized. You will be led through a flow of simple movement sequences and free expression, opening your chakras and moving you through a transformational experience to joy and bliss. It does not require any previous movement or dance experience, just a desire to have fun.

Aroma Yoga

Meditation with Tony Coniglio

This is a two part seminar on breathing, relaxation and meditation.
The topics covered will include:

  • The function and mechanics of the respiratory system
    with a focus the diaphragm
  • Exercises that bring the operation of the diaphragm into awareness
    and demonstrate its function through experience
  • Easy asana with a focus on breathing and on the various meditation postures
  • How the breath can be used to promote either anxiety or relaxation,
    and a method for experiencing relaxation through an awareness of breathing
  • The philosophy of nostril dominance and practices that balance
    the solar and lunar energies
  • The theory of the 5-step systematic approach to relaxation and meditation
    as used in the tradition of the Himalayan Institute
  • A guided meditation

This is a two part program. The second session will build on the experience of the first session. Though it will be helpful to have taken the first session, participants who are available only for the second part will be permitted to attend.

Tony Coniglio is a Certified Yoga Teacher at the 500hr level with the Himalayan International Institute of Yoga Science and Philosophy

Sensory Poetry Writing Workshop
Inspiring Creative Thought Through the Senses

Poetry writing can be fun, therapeutic and meditative. Open the channels of your intuitive mind and allow the creative writing process to flourish. Experience how your personal writing practice is stimulated and enhanced by combining language from your natural responses to color, essential oils and your own life experiences.
In this session, you will have the opportunity to write in a relaxed, creative atmosphere. There will be many choices for comfortable seating, including yoga mats and bolsters on the floor or at a table with a chair. All writing implements will be supplied for you in the studio. Everyone is welcome!

Date: Tuesday, September 28th
Time: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM.
Cost: $25 per person (includes all writing materials)

Creative Journaling
with Melanie Martinek

The traditional diary taken a step further, Creative Journaling is a tool for personal growth and creative self-expression. Workshop participants of all ages may choose to record thoughts and feelings through writing or simple visual expression. Instructor will offer prompts and time to develop ideas on paper. Open to all levels of writing experience. Registration fee includes all materials.
